President Jax is an openly communist politician and leader of the Communist Party of Owlia. His Fifth Republic administration works with the CPO–YP Senate coalition, coordinates legislation with senators and oversees appointments needed to keep the republic’s institutions functioning.

Owlia began as Fencer's democratic experiment, passed through three early republics and several political unions, and now continues under the restored Fifth Republic.

Owl Democracy
Fencer founded the first Owlia as a democratic experiment with stronger roleplay elements than a typical democracy simulation. After Julia's raid, the community chose a less roleplay-heavy direction for its next republic.
Archive 02 Second Republic

A Less Larpy Republic
Dead2 and Soup created the Second Republic to move Owlia toward a more conventional democracy simulation. A succession of presidential resignations and a government walkout during the Krabat controversy caused its collapse.

Stability and the Julian Split
Seb and Bloppa continued Owlia by creating the Third Republic, later receiving Fencer's blessing. It became a stable but quieter era, marked chiefly by the Owlian-Julian split amid conflict surrounding Royster's news activity.

The Owlistain Empire
An activity crisis led the Third Republic to merge with Hesta as Owlistain, a constitutional monarchy that approached 200 members. It ended after officials' plot to divide and annex Mardonia was exposed.

A Brief Republican Return
The Fourth Republic formed in response to the Owlistain scandal. The departure of Hestans and the Deepstate v. State case, which banned two highly active Owlians, pushed the new republic back into inactivity.

Union with Kattia
With Owlia inactive again, it united with Kattia to form Meowlia. The union never reached its first election before plans shifted toward a larger federation with bicameral, state-based representation.

Federation of the Owl
Owlia, Hesta, Stella, Rochester and Kattia formed the Federation of the Owl. Its states were already largely inactive and the state system gained little support, so the federation also dissolved and Owlia entered a dormant period.

The Fifth Republic
Nexus created the Fifth Republic. After a period of inactivity, Catnews and Bloppa promoted it, a Constitution was written and elections were held. The current republic had 377 members on 7 August 2026.

The first Owlia began in January as Fencer's democratic experiment, which is why the Wiki identifies him as the nation's founder.
Nearly 200 members
The Owlistain constitutional monarchy became the most active pre-Fifth-Republic era and brought the community close to 200 members.

Nexus established the current republic; Catnews and Bloppa later promoted its revival before constitutional government and elections resumed.
